Clock in with a tap, a scan or one location check.
Proof that people were at the site when they started, without following anyone through their day. Office staff never clock in at all.
Three ways to start the day.
Choose per person. Codes go only where you want proof or want the task picked for people.
A tap
Open the app on the phone or the web console and tap Clock in. Pick the project and task, and switch as the day changes.
A gate code
A QR label at the gate or the guard shack. Scanning it clocks the person in and shows they were at the site at that moment.
A work area code
A label at a work area, such as the racking laydown yard. The scan puts the hours on that project and task, so nobody has to pick it.
What happens at the site.
Geofences, from a nudge to a rule.
Draw a circle around a site. For each site choose: off, a warning only, required to clock in, or required to clock in and out.
The phone reads its location once, at the punch, and checks it against the circle. A clock-in with no location is not a way around a required site.
Outside the site, with a reason.
Someone parked at the far lot, or the phone guessed wrong. They can still clock in by typing why. Their supervisor sees the punch and the reason at the top of the approval list.
No signal, no lost punches.
A clock-in with no signal is saved on the phone with its time and sent when the phone is back online. It is never counted twice. If the phone's clock looks wrong, the supervisor is asked to check it.
A supervisor can clock in the crew.
Someone left their phone in the truck. On the Field plan a supervisor clocks a crew in or out from their own phone, and the punch records who made it.
Location only at clock-in and clock-out.
The app reads the phone's location at the moment someone clocks in, clocks out or switches tasks. It never follows anyone during the shift, on a break or after it. The camera opens only to scan a code, and no photo is saved. If location is off, people can still clock in.
Questions about clocking in.
Do we have to use QR codes?
No. Crews can clock in with a tap. Post codes only where you want proof someone was at the site, or want hours on a set task.
What phones does it run on?
iPhone and Android, plus the web console in any browser. On iPhone, Face ID opens the app once you are signed in.
Can people clock in from home?
With a site set to required, a clock-in outside the circle needs a reason, and the supervisor sees it. With the geofence off, a tap works anywhere, which suits office staff and people on the road.
Is a scanned code enough on its own?
A gate code shows presence the way a location check does, so a person who scans it is not also asked for their location at that site.
