How Oh! Thyme works with assistive technology.
Last updated October 31, 2026
Oh! Thyme should work for everyone who records or approves time, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, zoom or larger text.
What we aim for
The website and the web console at ohthyme.com/app aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice:
- Every control works with a keyboard and shows a visible focus ring.
- A dialog keeps focus inside while it is open and gives it back when it closes.
- Every control has a name and a role a screen reader can announce.
- Text has a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1, and controls 3 to 1, in the light and the dark theme.
- Targets are at least 24 pixels, and 44 on a phone.
- Pages reflow to a 320 pixel wide screen without scrolling sideways.
- Text stays readable with wider letter, word and line spacing.
- Nothing moves when your device asks for reduced motion.
- An error says what is wrong and how to fix it, and a screen reader reads it out.
- No meaning is carried by colour alone.
How we check it
Every change to the website or the console runs an automated check before it can ship. It opens every console page, as an admin, a payroll specialist and a field worker, and every page of this website, in both themes, at desktop and phone widths. It tests them with axe-core and with our own keyboard, focus, dialog, touch target, reflow, text spacing, motion and error message checks. A failure stops the release.
What we know falls short
- The iPhone and Android apps have accessibility labels on their controls, but have not yet been through a full audit with VoiceOver and TalkBack. That audit is planned.
- Automated checks find many problems but not all of them. We have not yet had the console tested by people who rely on assistive technology every day.
Report a barrier
If something on this site, in the console or in the apps stops you from doing what you came to do, email us about it. Say which page or screen, what you were trying to do, what got in the way, and the browser, device and any assistive technology you use. If you need your time recorded or approved while we fix it, ask your supervisor or payroll contact, who can enter or correct time for you in the console.
We read every report and write back to you.
