Run payroll each period
What to check before the download, and what happens to late changes.
Who does this: payroll.
Before the download#
Open Pay > Payroll for the period. Before the file is made, Oh! Thyme lists:
- anyone with hours and no payroll employee code,
- any day not yet approved,
- any day with an open request, which is held.
Totals count only approved days. Fix the gaps, or ask the supervisor to approve, then download.
What the file carries#
Hours for each person by earning code: regular, overtime, double time, meal and rest premiums, and each kind of time off. See Send hours to Paycom or ADP, Paylocity and Gusto files.
Already sent#
Payroll sees which periods were already sent, so hours are not paid twice.
Changes after the period closes#
Once a pay period is closed, a change to one of its days becomes a correction for payroll to decide. Nothing already sent is overwritten silently.
Pay rules#
Pay > Rules shows the rule set your company uses: when overtime and double time start, the meal and rest rules, the premium for each, and rounding. In California rounding is none: every minute counts.
