ADP, Paylocity and Gusto files

Pick your payroll system, enter its IDs and codes, and download exactly what it imports.

Who does this: your payroll lead. About 10 minutes, once.

Pick your payroll system#

Go to Pay > Payroll export and choose Change next to "Payroll system". Pick the system and enter the IDs it needs:

System What it needs, and the file it gets
ADP RUN The client code. A ##GENERIC## V1.0 time sheet import, one row per person and earnings code, imported as a Time Sheet Import.
ADP Workforce Now The company code and a 6-digit batch ID. An EPI pay data batch file for your company code.
Paylocity Your earnings codes. Earnings rows for a TimeImprt batch.
Gusto Nothing. One row per person with a named column per kind of hours, for Smart Import when you run payroll.

Enter the earning codes#

Enter the code for each kind of hours: regular, overtime, double time, meal premium, rest premium and each kind of time off. None of these systems has standard codes for California premiums, so they come from your own earnings list. Gusto matches columns by name and needs no codes.

Download each period#

Download the file gives exactly what that system imports, approved days only. The download is refused, with the reason, while anyone with hours has no employee code (Gusto matches by name) or a required ID is missing.

Direct API connections to these systems need a partner approval from each vendor. Until then, the file is the connection.
